Dr. Heng Lim
After practicing dentistry for three decades, Dr. Lim says that choosing the best part of his job is easy—it’s the people! Each day, he can’t wait to come to work. He loves meeting new people and hearing about their lives, their families, and their dreams. He has so much fun helping people through dentistry here in Owasso, and he can’t wait to build a relationship with you that uplifts your smile and health for years to come.
Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
Dr. Lim went to college to be a medical doctor; however, his wife and his Sunday school teacher influenced him to become a dentist. Growing up in Oklahoma City, he would take his mother to see the dentist all the time. She was always suffering from dental problems, so he thought that he could help people like her alleviate their pain and sickness by being a dentist.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Despite never attending primary or middle school prior to high school, Dr. Lim graduated at the top of his class at Oklahoma City University before going on to earn his dental degree at the University of Oklahoma.
Dr. Lim then pursued advanced training in the placement and restoration of dental implants at Baylor College of Dentistry. He has also completed continuing education through Robert Gerety’s Orthodontic Seminars in Dallas and learned from the masters of cosmetic dentistry, Dr. David Hornbrook and Dr. Larry Rosenthal. This was followed by studying at the LVI, Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, and he completed their Neuromuscular Dentistry, Cosmetic Dentistry, TMJ, and Orthopedic Facial Development programs. Today, he is proud to be one of the few dentists to earn the designation of an LVI Fellow (LVIF). He has also learned how to treat the underlying cause of sleep apnea through the Vivos system.
Always learning, Dr. Lim is a member of the following organizations:

- International College of Craniomandibular Orthopedics
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Dr. Lim has been married to his sweetheart for more than 30 years, and they have two adult daughters (including one who works in our practice), and two “adopted” sons from his native Cambodia. He has lived in Oklahoma for over 40 years and loves outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, and traveling. Outside of dentistry, he is an ordained minister, and he often does mission work and public speaking. At home, you’ll find him reading, doing research, and spending time in his wife’s lovely garden.
