Advanced Dental Technology Owasso

We Offer the Best in Precision & Quality

We’re committed to offering our patients the top-tier treatment they deserve, which is why our office is equipped with the latest technology the dental world has to offer. Not only do these instruments allow us to precisely plan each of your procedures, but they also make your visits streamlined and more comfortable. We invite you to learn more about the gadgets we use to help you maintain good oral health by reading below.

TENS Machine

TENS stands for transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation, which is a device that we use to provide our patients with TMJ pain with much-needed relief. It’s a small, battery-operated device that has small sticky pads connected to it, called electrodes. These can be placed directly on the jaw area, and when the device is turned on, they’ll deliver very small electrical impulses to the area. You’ll feel a tingling sensation that will help relax the strained and painful muscles surrounding your jaw joints.

K7x Evaluation System

Our K7x Evaluation System provides our team with invaluable diagnostic information involving the function of your masticatory muscles, which is a group of muscles used for chewing and other types of jaw movement. This is critical to the successful diagnosis and treatment of neuromuscular disorders.

Tekscan

Tekscan creates state-of-the-art digital occlusal analysis that uses articulating paper to show exactly where the teeth make contact and with how much force, allowing our team at Life Smiles of Owasso to clearly assess your bite. This allows Dr. Lim and our team to pinpoint whether existing dental work needs to be adjusted to balance your bite, orthodontic issues are present, or to diagnose more complex issues.

MODJAW®

MODJAW is a French med-tech company that creates leading-edge technology. With the ability to create lifelike photorealistic models of the mouth and jaw, Dr. Lim and our team are able to track your jaw movement with extreme detail. In doing so, we can help educate you about neuromuscular issues you face and show you how our proposed treatment plan will improve your jaw and oral functions.

OccluSense®

Our OccluSense device by Bausch is a handheld, batter-powered piece of technology that is connected to our local wireless network, allowing us to transmit the data it collects directly to our computer. You’ll bite down on the thin pressure sensor, which will measure the force distribution of your bite. This will help our team locate whether bite problems are prevalent due to improperly fitted dental restorations, orthodontic issues, or other underlying issues causing neuromuscular symptoms.

Fotona Soft Tissue Laser

Fotona is among the most experienced high-tech developers of lasers, recognized for its contribution to both the medical and dental fields. That’s why our Owasso dental office is equipped with one of their soft tissue lasers. Its outstanding precision paired with its ability to eliminate the need for a scalpel and sutures in several procedures may make your next treatment a breeze! Due to its ability to cauterize the area on-contact, it can also drastically minimize recovery times as well as any risk of post-operative infections.

Digital Dental Impressions

Gag-inducing putty impressions are a technique of the past. Our team utilizes a more comfortable and accurate digital dental impression system to capture the topography of your smile. We can then digitally transfer these files to a dental laboratory or our in-house milling machine, allowing us to provide you with perfectly-fitted mouthguards, restorations, prosthetics, and clear aligners. Best of all, it only takes a few moments to complete!

CEREC Same-Day Technology

Getting a traditional dental crown or bridge can take place over the course of multiple weeks and appointments to your dentist. With our CEREC same-day dental crown technology, we’re able to complete the entire process under our roof, all within a few hours. It utilizes CAD/CAM software to create a digital blueprint of your dental structure that we can then transfer to our in-house milling machine. Once it gets here, we’ll install a block of solid porcelain in the milling machine and allow it to craft your restoration to our specifications, making a complicated treatment more streamlined and convenient.

CT/Cone Beam Scanner

Our cone beam CT scanner is an amazing device that takes capturing X-rays to a whole new level. Within 30 seconds or less, this device can create a 3D digital image of your entire facial structure, allowing our team to see your jawbone and joints, the location of your facial nerves, and your sinuses. It’s especially helpful when it comes to diagnosing and treating TMJ disorder as well as planning surgical procedures such as dental implant placement.

Intraoral Camera

During your routine dental exams, we’ll likely use our intraoral camera to gain a more detailed look at your teeth and gums. This device is small and shaped like a wand with a camera on the end of it that we can use to capture life video footage as well as still images. We often utilize footage from our intraoral camera to help educate our patients on certain issues they may be facing, providing both a visual and explanatory resource to help you better understand our treatment recommendations.
